Photo and description

The main square of the Old Town has a triangular shape. Several interesting buildings can be seen here.

The Town Hall was built at the end of the 19th century in the classicism style on the dream of a small Renaissance palace. The quaint 17th-century Lugghaus building, decorated with Baroque decor and Renaissance frescoes, was formerly used as a town hall. House No. 4 houses the oldest pharmacy in the city (1534).

In the center of the square is the fountain of Archduke John, who did a lot for the development of the city. The four female figures around the fountain symbolize the four main rivers of Styria.
