Initially, on the site of the present monastery there was an ancient ancient temple, which was turned into a church by the Byzantines in the 400s. According to the source, an icon was previously kept in the church, which was painted by Saint Luke himself, framed with magnificent stone carvings.

In the middle of the 14th century, during the occupation of Antalya, the church served for some time to Catholic Christians, however was soon returned to Byzantine Orthodox Christians.

In the 15th century, the church was converted by the Ottoman prince Shehzade Korkut into a Friday mosque.

In 1480, after a devastating earthquake, also written by Leonardo da Vinci, the mosque was completely destroyed, which was the reason for the transformation of the Christian temple into a Muslim one.

Later, the mosque was named after Prince Korkut. Today only ruins can be seen on the site of the mosque.

Not far from the mosque there is a minaret. According to the data, a fire broke out in the Kaleici area in 1851, which severely damaged the building – its upper part was as if cut off. After that, the structure began to be called `` cut off '' minaret.
