Rating: 7,5/10 (452 votes)  'Hillside House' is an original ensemble of buildings in which the privileged strata of society previously lived, as a result of which the street also bears the name – The Homes of the Rich. The buildings were placed in such a way that each served as a kind of terrace for the adjacent house. The House of Peristel I, famous for the largest number of decorations, stands out especially in the ensemble. The house was built in the 1st century and was often rebuilt until the 6th century. Numerous rooms of the buildings have 4th century wall murals and mosaic floors. House of Peristeria II, built in the 1st century, it was also often restored. One of its rooms, called the theater, is famous for its frescoes depicting theatrical subjects. Also here you can see frescoes depicting scenes from the plays of Euripides and Menander.
