Rating: 7,5/10 (100 votes) Ras al-Tin is located in Alexandria, above the Western Harbor, on the headland. It was built in 1834-1847 as a palace for the royal dynasty. Now it is the oldest royal palace in all of Egypt and one of the residences of the President of the country. The palace is famous for the fact that King Farouk abdicated the throne here on July 26, 1952.
