It is made in the shape of the letter 'T', which is unusual in Cappadocia. Initially, the church had a dome, but then it collapsed, and the roof was made of glass. The frescoes on the inner walls of the church are very well preserved. They show biblical scenes: Jesus on the cross, the appearance of the prophets, the birth of Christ, the Annunciation. The church is now closed to the public. On Christmas and Easter it is opened to to conduct a service. According to some legends, Saint Theodora was the captain of the army in Byzantium under the name of Theodoris. According to other sources, she was the daughter of Emperor Constantine himself and even ruled from 1055 to 1056.
