One of the memorable sights of Jakarta is a textile museum, which is located in an old building from the early 19th century, built in a neoclassical style with baroque elements. Initially the mansion belonged to a wealthy Frenchman, later to the Turkish consulate, social department, and in the middle of the 20th century there was even a house the elderly. The Textile Museum has unique collections traditional Javanese fabrics - batik and ikat, which have no analogues in the world. A hotel space in the museum is devoted to equipment and tools, with with the help of which fabric has been produced for many centuries. Around the building the museum has a beautiful park in which plants are still grown, used for natural dyeing of textiles.
