The Mariehamn Maritime Museum is a thematic museum in town of Mariehamn, Aland Islands. The museum's collection contains a variety of items from old sailing ships, for example, bow decorations of ships, pirate and other flags, decoration elements for ships for various purposes, various awards, sailor chests, navigation devices, ship markets and so on. A large number of museum exhibits are various ships - fishing, pirate and military ships, the first steamships and motor ships, submarines and destroyers. Some of them are made in full size. IN the main hall of the museum is a restored old ship with a galley and cabins.

At the entrance to the Maritime Museum guests are greeted by a skipper statue - a monument to sailors who did not return home from sailing.
IN Mariehamne, the birth of Finnish navigation and the first museum dedicated to navigation, appeared right here. However, museum exhibits tell not only about history and the development of navigation, but also about brave and courageous people who began in distant times to conquer the seas. In the center of the exposition are the first fishermen who began to go out to the sea in boats to feed their families, sailors who protected the city from the pirates, and the pirates themselves.
