The Pinakothek collection contains works of classical modern and contemporary art, samples of almost all directions: expressionism, cubism, fauvism, `` new materiality '', abstract expressionism, bauhaus, surrealism , pop art and minimalism. The collection of contemporary art began to grow after the Second World War through donations.
