Linnansaari National Park in Finland

The park is located in the center of Lake Haukvesi, which is part of the lake system of Lake Saimaa, and includes several islands. The national park was created with the aim of preserving the main natural resources and characteristics of the"Lakeside Finland".
On the main island of the park, there is a farm that uses slash and burn farming as a preservation of the outgoing forms of culture. The island is covered with meadows and forests. The island's waters are home to a small population of the endangered Saimaa ringed seal.
Tourists are allowed to spend from one to several days in the park. You can stay overnight in tents or wooden houses built specifically for this. The park can be reached by boat, which runs from the mainland from late May to mid-August.
