ImageThe Tank Museum is a military history museum in Finland. In this museum, technical samples of tank and anti-tank units of the Finnish Defense Forces are collected and constantly studied. The Tank Museum was opened in the summer of 1961. Then, 19 tanks and 12 anti-tank guns were located in the territories adjacent to the museum. In 1967, 1969, 1975, 1981, 1984, work was carried out to expand the territory of the museum. In 1986, a railway with an armored train was built here. Museum equipment has taken part in various parades, filming and performances. This museum is a specialized military history museum, the purpose of which is to collect, store, restore and study the history of Finnish tank and anti-tank military units. The central theme of the museum is a demonstration of the development of the tank forces of independent Finland, their technical equipment, a story about battles against superior enemy forces in past wars. The organization of the Tank Museum was a sign of respect for Finnish soldiers.
