Tankograd is a unique open-air museum of military equipment from the Second World War. The museum is located in the Kolyvan district of the Novosibirsk region, not far from the district center.

The founder of the museum was a resident of the village of Bolshoy Oyosh - Verevochkin V.V. After graduating from school in 1974, Vyacheslav Vladimirovich entered the tank school. He gave thirty years of his life to the army. During this time Verevochkin V.V. I disassembled and assembled numerous military equipment with my own hands. In 2006, Vyacheslav Vladimirovich retired and began to produce exact full-size copies of tanks from the Great Patriotic War.

In just a few years, the craftsman managed to assemble more than 30 military vehicles, including the Soviet armored vehicle BA-10, domestic Katyusha and BTR-40, tanks T-34, T-60 and T-26, MS-1, waterfowl T-40, as well as American tanks M3 General Lee, M4A4 Sherman, Japanese battle tank "Te-Ke", tanks PzKpfw 38t and PzKpfw III, German guns Ferdinand and Sturmgeschutz III. The heavy German "Tiger" is of particular interest to the guests of the museum. The most serious project is the T-2D model. There are only a few such models all over the world. The master spent a month and a half on this work.

The models presented in the museum are made in full size and move. They were collected with his own hand according to archival drawings, which Vyacheslav Vladimirovich was looking for in Kubinka in the Military History Museum of armored vehicles. His son-in-law Maxim, local residents Andrey and Eduard, as well as local boys helped to create copies of military equipment.

Copies, collected by V.V. Verevochkin in his personal garage, participated in the filming of 10 films. The designer gave the equipment to the film studios in exchange for paint, iron sheets and chassis from cars. The directorate of the film "Burnt by the Sun-2" ordered several German armored vehicles from the master.

Famous resident of Novosibirsk VV Verevochkin died on October 11, 2012. His son-in-law Maxim became the successor of the case, who announced that the workshop for the production of copies of military equipment would develop further.
