Urho Kekkonen is one of the largest parks in the country, covering an area of 2,550 sq. km. The park was created in 1983 and bears the name of the former President and Prime Minister of Finland.
The main tourist center of Urho Kekkonen Park is located in the village of Saariselka, located in the mountainous region of the Inari municipality. Many hiking trails in Urho Kekkonen Park start from here. Also, tourists are always interested in the Korvatunturi hill, where, according to Finnish folklore, Joulupukki, the local Santa Claus, lives.
