Budenbrockhaus is an excellent mansion located near St. Mary's Basilica. The mansion was built in the early 19th century. The Mann family owned the mansion from 1841 to 1891. It is here that Thomas Mann wrote the famous Buddenbrooks novel. The building currently houses an excellent restaurant.
