Nowadays, the temple is located in the center of Verona next to Porta Borsari on Corso Cavour. Throughout its history, the cathedral was rebuilt several times: in the 15th century, a bell tower was added to it, and later a side portico, made in the Renaissance style. Despite this, the temple is a valuable example of the Romanesque style with elements of Byzantine and Norman architecture. Spiral staircases lead to the side aisles located on the upper tiers. The facade of the building was made of alternating layers of brick and stone. The interior of the church has been preserved since the 12th century. The church has three naves; the light enters the temple through the windows of the central nave. The church contains works of art, of which the tombstones of Romanna Trivell and the Nogarola family, the Virgin Mary with Saints Augustine, John the Baptist and Laurentia, are worth highlighting. Temple of San Lorenzo along with other sights of Verona have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
