After numerous reconstructions in XII – XIV years, the building acquired Gothic features. At the end of the 16th century, the Gothic facade of the church was rebuilt in a classical style, and three marble entrance portals were added to it. The upper part of the facade has been preserved in its original form. In 1533, the church bell tower was built. The author of the project was the architect Fra Giovanni da Verona. The temple has three naves. It was built in the form of a Latin cross, later a presbytery was added, under which is the crypt. The building has preserved the Romanesque style of the original construction and the columns of the 8th century. The slave over the decoration of the basilica was carried out by: Francesco Caroto and Nicolo Giolfino, who created the frescoes of the presbytery; Domenico and Francesco Morone, Giovanni Pittoni, who created the altar paintings. In the 15th century, carved wooden choirs were created, and 20 years later - and ndash; armchairs-stasidia. Both of these works were inlaid with still lifes and landscapes. The Basilica of Santa Maria in Organo, along with other landmarks of Verona, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
