Montmartre Cemetery in France, Paris resort
Rating: 8,4/10 (1380 votes)  One of the most famous Parisian cemeteries. Until 1825, there was a small limestone quarry here. When the reserves began to dry up, the Paris municipality began to consider plans for the further use of this territory, and it was decided to turn the quarry into a burial place. It is here that you can find the graves of the most prominent cultural figures in France, including the number of poets, writers, artists, actors and musicians. Today the cemetery has a kind of elite character, the most prominent people of France are buried here.
