World Clock in Germany, Berlin Spa

World clock & ndash; a giant ten-meter clock towering on Alexanderplatz. They are special in that they show the time of all time zones.

The clock, designed by Erich John, industrial designer, and erected by Hans-Joachim, was built by 1969 and was named Urania.
There is a cylindrical dial on a three-meter pillar, which schematically depicts different countries of the world. Metal rings and balls rotate above the cylinder, symbolizing the planets and their orbits. The surface of the square around the clock is decorated with a mosaic depicting a wind rose.
Today the World Clock & ndash; very popular place in Berlin and one of the most interesting sights.
