Clock tower in Montenegro, Herceg Novi resort
Rating: 8,0/10 (2144 votes)  The tower was erected in 1494 and initially served as a bell tower for the Vyborg Cathedral. A clock with a bell was first installed on the tower in 1753. The tower was being completed, a third tier was added to its two-tier structure, made in a classicist style. For a long time, the tower served as a fire tower, and an excellent observation deck was built on its top. The large alarm bell was donated to the city by the Russian Empress Catherine II. It rings over the city today. Until recently, the clock control mechanism with the help of heavy weights was preserved in the inner part of the tower. Only in 1995, the old clock was replaced by an electronic one on the tower.
