The City of Munster Bible Museum dedicated to Bible history is under the auspices of the local university.

The museum was founded as Branch of the Institute for the Study of New Testament Texts. The museum was opened in March 1979. In 1986, three additional premises were allocated for the museum. In 2006 the museum moved to its current premises.

The basis of the exposition was a private collection, which was later supplemented by exhibits kept at the institute. In the permanent exhibition of the museum, you can see about 350 exhibits – these are ancient handwritten copies of various sections of the Bible and printed editions of the XVI – XX centuries.
