The prototype of this building was the towers of medieval castles located in Lombardy. The lower parts of such towers were narrow, in contrast to the upper parts, which at one time had a wider base and rested on stone beams or wooden boards. The building reaches 100 meters in height, at the top a third has a greater volume, which is why it looks like a fortress raised high above the ground. Apartments are located on the upper floors, while offices and shops are located on the first floor. The construction of the building began in 1956 and was completed two years later. At one time, the project caused a lot of controversy because of its design, both among ordinary people and among professionals.
