Palazzo Pubblico in Italy, Siena resort
Rating: 7,7/10 (600 votes)  Palazzo Pubblico is the palace where the Council of Nine met in the Middle Ages. Currently, it houses the City Municipality. The building was built in 1297-1342. White travertine and brick were used as construction materials. At the top of the palace was installed a solar disk, decorated with the monogram of Christ, and a little below - – the coat of arms of the Medici family. Throughout the history of its existence, the palace has been rebuilt more than once. In the 17th century, the architect Carlo Fontana added to the side wings during reconstruction work, and also changed the exterior of the building for safety reasons. The halls, decorated with famous frescoes, were opened as a museum exposition in 1930.
