This majestic three-story palace was built in the 14th century on the site, where the earlier city buildings were located. In the 19th century, a number of large-scale reconstruction works were carried out in the palace, during which the building acquired a neo-Gothic style. The palace was also decorated with details such as blind arches, crenellated loopholes and casement triple windows. The next large-scale reconstruction was carried out in the 20th century by the architect Pierluigi Spadolini, who gave the building the features of Siena Gothic. The windows on the middle floor were crowned with pointed arches decorated with the coats of arms of the noble families of Siena.
