Great Mosque in Tunisia, Monastir resort
Rating: 7,9/10 (6956 votes)  South of Ribat is the Great Mosque, built in the 9th century. Over the centuries, it was completed. The prayer hall of the mosque has three naves that support the columns. A feature of the temple is the absence of a dome over the mihrab, which was considered a rarity for the architecture of that era. The minaret was completed during the Hafsid period.
