House of Loos locals call the House without eyebrows. It is located in the western part of the Michaellerplatz square. The house was built in 1910 by the Austrian architect A. Loos for a tailor's workshop.

The Loos house contrasts strongly with the nearby buildings. Its strict rectilinear lines and the absence of any decorations, stucco molding gave it the name House without eyebrows. The inside of the house is clad in mahogany with mirrors and a"pyramidal texture".

After the construction of this house, the whole of Vienna was shocked by the unusual house for that time. Even Emperor Franz Joseph closed the windows of the palace so as not to look at the ugly house and called it"disrespect for the city".
