Photo and description

The building of the Red City Hall was designed by G.F. Wesemann and built in 1869. Its walls are made of red brick, which is why it got its name. A long fresco located on the building called History in Stone and tells about the history of the city, about the development of its economy and science.

The Red City Hall was badly damaged during the Second World War and was reconstructed in the 50s of the twentieth century. The city hall and government of Berlin are now located here.
