The construction of the temple lasted 11 years: from 1860 1871. The 8th Parisian arrondissement at that time badly needed its own church, so it was decided to build a temple from scratch between two converging into the letter V prospectuses. The architects and builders faced a daunting task – simply put a rather large temple in such an inconvenient place. The solution was found very quickly, which subsequently influenced the development of the city's architecture. At first, the church frame was assembled from metal rods, which was later lined with stone. This slowed down the construction process a bit, but allowed it to fit into the limited space between the streets. The general style of the church is eclectic, but the facade and arcades have some Byzantine and Romanesque features. The main stained glass window of the church is often depicted on souvenir postcards. / p> The general style of the church is eclectic, but the facade and arcades show some Byzantine and Romanesque features.
