The Hofgarten is the oldest park in Dusseldorf. The park was founded in 1769 and is made in the English style. The park houses the Jagerhof Castle, built in 1763 in the late Baroque style. Currently, the castle houses the Goethe Museum. Shady alleys, lakes, modern and historical sculptures and monuments from different eras turn the park into an oasis of nature and art, located in the center of the metropolis. In the evenings, twilight gives the park a fantastic view. As the sun sets, the park benches glow with a mysterious cold light – This original art concept was suggested by the artist Stefan Sous.
