Lake Great Wannsee is a lake in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district of Berlin, which is an extended section of the Havel River. There is also the Small Wannsee Lake as part of the Gribnitsa Canal. On the picturesque coast, there is a beach building, which is an architectural monument, equipped with a special area for a nudist beach. It is a favorite vacation spot for West Berliners. River trams pass along Wannsee. The pier is located on the southern coast of the lake. On the western shore of the lake is the Villa Marlier, in which on January 20, 1942, a secret meeting of representatives of the imperial departments of the Third Reich took place. They discussed the implementation of the recently adopted decision to exterminate the Jewish population of Europe. It now houses the Holocaust Memorial Center.
