Maulbronn Monastery


Maulbronn Monastery – preserved medieval monastery of the Cistercian order. The monastery was founded by order of Pope Eugene III in 1147, and since 1993 it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Johannes Kepler and Hermann Hesse studied here at different times.

A commemorative coin with the image of the monastery is planned. The two euro coin will be part of the German Lands series.
