Danube Tower in Austria, Vienna resort
Rating: 7,7/10 (200 votes)  The Danube Tower was built in 1964 as part of the Vienna International Garden Exhibition. The tower was designed by Hanns Lintl. Since then, it has been a popular tourist attraction and observation point. The tower is located on the banks of the Danube River in Donaupark. The height of the Danube Tower is 252 meters. The observation deck is located at an altitude of 150 meters. There are 776 steps or two high-speed elevators leading to it, which will take you to the desired height in 35-45 seconds. On the site there is a mechanism for jumping from a height ("bungee"), which functions only in summer. The observation deck offers a magnificent view of the historical part of the city, the Vienna Woods, and, depending on weather conditions, of the near and distant surroundings of Vienna. At an altitude of 170 and 160 meters, there are two restaurants:"Danube Waltz" and"Panorama". They are located on a rotating platform that has three speed settings. The platform makes a full revolution in 52, 39 and 26 minutes, depending on the speed. The antennas of private VHF radio stations, cellular companies of other radio communication services are installed on the Danube Tower.
