It was consecrated in honor of Saint Vladislav, Saint Stephen and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The first mentions of the cathedral date back to the 9th century. In the XIII century, during the invasion of the Tatars, the temple was destroyed. The building that has survived to this day was erected in the second half of the 13th century, but since then it has undergone many reconstructions, which greatly changed its structure. After a strong earthquake in 1880 The twin towers of the cathedral, made in the Gothic style, were destroyed to dust. Later, the towers, facade and interior decoration of the temple were restored in the neo-Gothic style. The treasury of the temple contains works of church art, clothing and valuable items.
