The Baroque Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built on the foundations of the old cathedral, designed by the Roman architect Andrea Buffalini. The present building of the cathedral is a three-aisled church crowned with a baroque dome and has the shape of a Latin cross. Inside the temple you can listen to church music, see ancient paintings and inspect the treasury, which contains valuable Christian relics. The most famous of them are: a particle of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified and the relics of St. Blah (patron saint of Dubrovnik).
