Initially, on the site of the present monastery, there was a Benedictine monastery, and in 1219 Saint Sava established the throne of bishops of the Zeta diocese here ... In 1452, during the feast day, the Venetians poisoned all the monks and people gathered for the holiday. According to the monastery legend, a man who brought food to the monastery, who entered into a conspiracy with the Catholics, poured poison into the food. The death of a large number of people was explained by an epidemic, and the monastery was destroyed. Now the monastery houses the relics of 70 Prevlaka martyrs, which can be worshiped in the monastery church. Previously, the complex of buildings of the monastery occupied the entire island, and now only the only Trinity Church and a fragment of the building with cells remain. The monastery currently has three inhabitants - a nun and two monks.
