Franciscan monastery in Croatia, Dubrovnik resort

The monastery was built in 1317, its construction lasted about 100 years. In 1667, during an earthquake, the monastery was destroyed, but later it was restored to almost its original form. The monastery building houses a valuable library of Croatia and a monastery pharmacy. This pharmacy has been operating since the opening of the Franciscan monastery (1317). Here tourists are given the opportunity to look into the past by examining various measuring instruments, jugs with mysterious contents, distillation stills and mortars.
