Between the windows above the pilasters at the height of the fourth floor, there are four allegorical sculptures that symbolize the railway, telegraph, post office and ship transport. The building was constructed in 1900-1904. The author of the project is the architect Friedrich Zetz. Previously, the post office was one of the most modern communications enterprises in the Austro-Hungarian Republic. Due to the high quality of construction, the Main Post Office was included in the register of monuments under state protection.
