Tomb of Dong Khan in Vietnam, Hue Resort

Dong Khanh was the older brother of the emperors Nam Ngi and Kien Phuc. Following his coronation, Emperor Dong Khan built a temple near the grave of his father, Trui Tu, to honor his memory. In 1888, during the construction of the temple, the emperor fell ill and died. After him, Thanh Thai took the crown. The new emperor renamed the temple Ngung Hu to honor Emperor Dong Khan. The body of the emperor was buried on Ho Thuan Son hill, near the Ngung Hu temple.

In 1916, after the coronation of Khai Dinh – son of Dong Khan, the emperor restoration of the grave and temple of his father. In 1917, restoration work with the grave was completed, but the temple was restored only by 1923.

The tomb was built almost entirely in the European style, starting from materials, used during construction and ending with decorating solutions.
