The construction of the town hall was carried out under the direction of Pancras Roder. Nowadays, the Town Hall is one of the few similar structures in Central Europe that survived the Holocaust. In 1763, a number of reconstruction works were carried out in the building, during which the Town Hall acquired the Baroque style. The project was directed by the architect Josef Schlesinger. In the 18th century, the facade of the Town Hall was rebuilt in the Rococo style. At that time, the building was the main prayer house for the local Jewish community, but today the Town Hall is closed to the public. The only part available for visits is the Kosher canteen. The most popular attractions of the town hall are the clock, some of which are located directly on the tower itself, while others are slightly lower. The upper clock has Roman numerals, while the lower with Hebrew numbers, moreover, their arrows rotate in the opposite direction, since in Hebrew the reading takes place from right to left. The right to build the tower the Jewish community received after it took part in 1648 in the battles on the Charles Bridge against the Swedes.
