Initially, on this place there was another, very ancient church, the construction of which dates back to the 7th century. Then, in the 15th century, a new church was erected in its place, which has survived to this day. Rare fragments of the former building are now kept in the city's museum. Already at the end of the 19th century, the architectural ensemble of the church was supplemented by a bell tower visible from afar. Together, this forms a three-aisled basilica, built in the Gothic style. By the way, you can climb the bell tower, from there a beautiful panorama of the city opens. The facade is decorated very simply, even austerely, but the interior decoration is very splendid.
