Rating: 7,7/10 (221 votes) The equestrian monument, erected in honor of the famous Podebrady native King Jiri, is one of the finest examples of monumental Czech sculpture of the 19th century. The sculpture was made from copper plates, which were attached to the steel supporting frame. The statue was originally installed in Prague at the Jubilee Exhibition, but soon it was transported to the city of Podebrad, where it was inaugurated in 1896.
