The white facade of the church was made by Carlo Lombardi, who was working in Rome at the time. The material for the facade is travertine. This double-fronted facade with paired pilasters was crowned with a tympanum on which statues were set. The floor in the church was decorated with geometric mosaics. At the back of the nave is the Holy Arch, made of polychrome marble, framing the sculptural group Confessions, and here you can see an arched pavilion decorated with four columns, where another sculptural group, Saint Francesca with Angels, is located. In the right branch of the church there are two basalt slabs. According to the legend, Saint Peter came to pray in the place where the church is today, and once left footprints on the slabs. Here, near the left wall, there is the gravestone of Gregory the Ninth, made by the sculptor Olivieri. The apse of the temple is decorated with a mosaic depicting the Madonna and Child with Saints Andrew and Peter, dates back to 1160. The relics of Saint Francesca of Rome rest in the crypt of the altar, next to it there is a medallion depicting a saint and an angel, by Bernini.
