One of the best zoos in Asia - the National Zoological Park of the city of Delhi - is located near the Old Fort and covers an area of more than 86 hectares, which is home to about 2 thousand birds and animals of 130 species. living not only in Asia, but also in Africa, Australia and America.
The park was founded in 1955, but opened to visitors only in 1959, and since then has become one of the most famous zoos worldwide. It was originally called the Delhi Zoo, but in 1982 it received national status.

And in the central part of the park there is an underground terrarium where you can admire pythons and king cobras.
The zoo is also carrying out a program to protect and increase populations of endangered species of animals and birds, such as the royal Bengal tiger, barasinga, deer -Lira, Banking Jungle Chicken.
