Cherninsky Palace is one of the most beautiful and majestic Prague palaces, made in the Baroque style. The palace is located near the Loretan Monastery on the Loretan Square. The last owners of the palace were the count's family Chernin from Hudenice.

The palace was built in 1668 by the Italian architect Francesco Caratti. Most of the family's savings were spent on building and decorating the palace. After the completion of construction, the palace was used as a famous art gallery.

In 1742, the palace was plundered by the French and was also badly damaged during the bombing by the Prussians. Later, the palace served as a shelter for the homeless, and was also used as a barracks. Since 1777, various cultural events have been held in the palace premises. It was here that Jan Rudolf Czernin hosted a solemn ball in connection with the coronation of Leopold II.

The most beautiful part of the palace is the 30 Corinthian half-columns stretching along the upper floor.

Today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is located in the Cherninsky Palace. Presidents and other dignitaries are quite frequent here.
