Janak in 1925. Czech architects invented the Rondo-Cubism style, who adopted the fashion for cubism from the French, and interpreted it in their own way, smoothing the corners and adding an abundant amount of stucco. The building was originally built for an Italian insurance company, but later housed restaurants, offices and the Laterna magika theater. The facade of the building was decorated with sculptures by Otto Gutfroyd, the famous cubist sculptor of the Czech Republic.
