The fountain was created by master Yarosh in 1562-1568, according to a wax model and a sketch by Francesco Terzia – an Italian artist from Bergama who has been working in Prague since the middle of the 16th century. The wooden form was carved by Ganusz Peisser. The fountain was made of bronze combined with bell brass. The fountain was decorated with relief masks, hunting motifs and palmettes. The fountain got its name from the jets that emit a pleasant melodic sound of water falling on a resonating bronze surface.
