Gesu Church is the cathedral temple of the Society of Jesus. The church is located in the central part of Rome in a small square of the same name. In our time, the relics of the founder of the church rest here – Ignatius Loyola.
The construction of the church was started in 1568 and finished in 1584. The temple was designed by Michelangelo. The main architects of the building were Giacomo della Porta and Giacomo da Vignola. The temple was accepted as a canon for Jesuit cathedrals in Europe and even Latin America.
