The trait of the Czechs, which is noticeable immediately upon arrival in the country, is their leisurely, unhurriedness. They are welcoming, hospitable. A distinctive feature is conservatism in behavior, thinking, a certain restraint, stiffness of movements. Czechs love cleanliness and do their best to maintain it both at home and on the city streets. The older generation knows Russian well, unlike the young.

As for the language, Czech is quite similar to Slovak. This is understandable, because at the time of their creation the Czech Republic and Slovakia were united. These two languages originated from Church Slavonic, like the languages of the Slavic tribes, which then turned into a literary one under the influence of Cyril and Methodius. However, modern Czech differs significantly from Slavic, due to numerous reforms (for example, Jan Hus). Slovak, on the other hand, consists of many dialects.
