Photo and description

The Palace of Supreme Harmony is part of the Imperial Citadel in Hue. Built at the very beginning of the 19th century, Thai Hoa, which means the Palace of Supreme Harmony, was intended for the gathering of the closest subjects of the emperor. The structure is a main building with five large halls, luxuriously decorated. In addition, there are seven more halls located in additional annexes. The columns, covered with red lacquer and decorated with golden dragons, draw attention to themselves. In former times, under the shadow of these columns, events of national importance were held. These were the coronations of the rulers, official receptions, celebrations of the names of members of the monarch's family.

Apart from ceremonies, the Palace in Hue served as an unusual library. And today, its 297 sectional squares contain carved poems in Chinese. Over time, much of the interior has been damaged by termites. Therefore, restoration and restoration work was carried out in 1991.

The hieroglyph on the signboard of the entrance to the Palace says that this is the location of the Supreme Harmony. The golden throne inside is covered with a veil with a pattern of golden threads. Nine dragons protect the peace of the palace, their sculptures made of gold speak of the greatness of the ruling dynasty. The space of each room is decorated with exquisite octahedral lamps, antique vases and other works of art.

The ceremonial courtyard is decorated with rare plants in flowerpots located on stone pedestals. They surround the pond and the bridge across it, harmoniously uniting all the elements.

The wealth and external beauty of the halls of the palace are not its main advantages. The main thing is harmony, which manifests itself in all details. The palace was built in such a way that the coolness does not leave its halls in the strongest heat of the street. And in winter it is always warm here. Its acoustics are phenomenal and have not been fully understood until now. The person on the throne perfectly hears even a whisper from anywhere in every room.
