Photo and descriptionIn 1520, the city senate decided to build a church on this site in gratitude to God for the salvation from the earthquake. It is surprising that it became one of the few buildings that survived in the next terrible earthquake in 1667, and therefore it still stands in its place and is still active. The facade of the church is decorated with a magnificent Gothic rose window. Next to the church on the square is the Great Onofrio Fountain, which once supplied the entire city with water. The fountain was designed and built by Onofrio della Cava in the middle of the 15th century.
