Photo and description

Po Nagar Cham Towers - four surviving buildings from the era of the Tyampa principality, which existed from the 7th to the 12th centuries on the coastal territory of present-day Vietnam. This is one of the few Tyampa architectural and cultural monuments that survived the Indo-Chinese and Vietnamese wars. For tourists it is an interesting attraction, for the Vietnamese it is a place of spiritual power, where Buddhist ceremonies and rituals of ancestor worship are held. The towers are located on the Cu Lao mountain, from where the panorama of the whole of Nha Trang opens.

The territory of the mountain was used for religious ceremonies and rituals from the early centuries. According to archaeological excavations, eight towers were erected on the territory of the mountain over the five centuries of the principality's existence. Four survived, differing in size and architectural design. What unites them is the way of construction: the bricks were not fastened with any mortar, but were sintered together. Thousand-year-old technologies have preserved the original appearance and color of the buildings.

Each tower is designed to worship a specific god. The North Tower is considered the main one; it is also the highest - 28 meters. At the entrance, guests are greeted by the dancing god Shiva. For centuries, meditations have been performed in this tower to find their own path and find harmony. The meditation hall is currently in poor condition, requiring restoration. But even with this, the energy of the collective centuries-old meditations is felt.

The inside of the tower is black because of centuries of burning candles and torches. And today they smell of incense, filling already small rooms with a light haze. Through which the altars with Hindu deities are visible.

The Po Nagar Temple is operational, so tourists in shorts and T-shirts are given special clothing for the excursion. On the territory of the temple complex there is a museum of the history of these places.
