Le Navi Aquarium description and photos - Italy: Cattolica. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photographs and a map showing the nearest significant objects. The title in English is Le Navi Aquarium. Photo and descriptionThe Le Navi Oceanarium in the resort town of Cattolica on the Adriatic coast of Italy is an innovative way to get to know marine life and their natural environment. It is also a great way to learn a lot about the appearance of the seas on our planet and about their evolution up to the present day. To do this, you just need to hit the road along one of the many educational trails "Le Navi". Today, the Cattolica Aquarium is home to over 400 marine animals brought here from all over the world in order to show the park's visitors all the richness and diversity of the underwater kingdom of the Earth. In 2010, chameleons and penguins appeared in "Le Navi", and in the summer of 2011 - tiny caimans and the most playful mammals - otters. These animals became the decoration of the Yellow Trail of the Aquarium. The Le Navi tour begins in an elevator that virtually "lowers" visitors 3200 meters under the water, where the so-called Temporary Evolutionary Laboratory is located. It is in it that you can learn about the history of the emergence of the earth from the time of the Big Bang and the moment of the birth of life to the formation of the Mediterranean Sea. And at the end of the tour… sharks await visitors! It is a true symbol of how marine life can adapt to changing environmental conditions. Sharks are perhaps the main attraction of the aquarium. They are inhabited by about 60 individuals belonging to 16 species - from the tiny Mediterranean to the huge South African blunt shark. All of them swim in a large pool with a capacity of 700 thousand liters in the company of small sea fish. Sharks are generally considered one of the most dangerous marine predators, but they are also critically endangered due to the massive extraction of their fins, which are used in oriental cuisine. Since 2003, the Le Navi Oceanarium has been implementing the "Face to Face with Sharks" project: any visitor can dive into the pool with these amazing creatures to dispel the myth of their excessive aggressiveness. The "face" of the project, which involves about 20 predators, is the 3-meter shark Brigitte. If you wish, you can participate in shark feeding. Several years ago, Le Navi also opened a Turtle Nursery - a protected area where little turtles are kept in complete rest. They are looked after by biologists and veterinarians of the aquarium. After the turtles grow up, they are released into the wild.
